Discover a little-known volcano on this guided hike.
Fuerteventura hides many treasures in the outback. One of them is the Arrabales volcano near Pozo Negro in the inland. Surrounded by a 3000-hectare lava field, the volcano was already an important retreat for the indigenous people. Today, caves and fossils are still evidence of life from long ago.

CRATER

Reach the crater of Caldera de los Arrabales via a narrow path. Look into the crater. Its highest elevation is 242 m. Learn more about the bizarre volcanic landscape and enjoy the view over the unique lunar landscape.

As an important bird sanctuary, Arrabales is home of the local Egyptian vulture. During the breeding season from February to the end of July, the use of the trail is not permitted.

THE HIKING TRAIL

The hike is a circular walk of 5 km. Due to the volcanic soils and a slight ascent to the crater, ground can be slippery. Solid shoes are a essential for the medium hike. Although the tour is good to walk, all participants should have a good basic level of fitness and be able to explore the beauty of nature with us for 2 hours. 

 FARM VISIT

Afterwards we offer a tour on a traditional farm, which is about 20 minutes away by car.
The finca has an old farmhouse which has been restored in Canarian style.
Today, the interior rooms serve as a production facility for the medicinal plant aloe vera and the algae spirulina. When you visit the bio aloe vera farm, you can buy the handmade products and learn how aloe vera is cultivated.

PicNIC 

In the idyllic garden there is time for a break with cheese, olives and wine. Let the day end in a pleasant atmosphere before the transfer takes you back to the hotel.

Volcano and Finca is a tour for those who want to explore the most beautiful authentic places in small groups. Maximum group size 16 people.

Who is the tour suitable for?

The tour is suitable for participants aged 9 - 75 years. You don't need to have any off-road experience. A normal level of physical fitness is required, as there is a hiking trail that goes up and down again.
Sturdy, closed shoes with a profile are important, as the ground is gravel.

GOOD TO KNOW

Fuerteventura is a sunny island with warm weather all year round. Sun protection and a hat are important for all participants. Especially with children, a scarf or hat should be considered, because Fuerteventura is known for its wind. Closed shoes with good soles are a prerequisite for our tour.
