Jacomar Coastal Hike

Lava, Lagoons & Pure Nature

Immerse yourself in the wild and authentic east coast of Fuerteventura. This coastal hike takes you through a landscape that powerfully reflects the island’s volcanic origins. From your very first step, black lava terrain accompanies you, while the vast island scenery opens up before your eyes.

The sun illuminates the dark rocks, the sea air is fresh and clear, and the silence of the surroundings creates a truly special atmosphere.

Along the way, you will encounter small, shimmering lagoons. The water sparkles between volcanic formations, creating a fascinating contrast with the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. Free-roaming goats wander through the area, shaping the landscape as they have for centuries and offering an authentic glimpse into Fuerteventura’s traditional way of life.

The route follows impressive coastal stretches where rugged cliffs meet the open ocean. Waves crash powerfully against the volcanic rock, producing unique natural sounds. With every step, new perspectives unfold, enhancing the feeling of space and freedom.

Your destination is Jacomar, a remote coastal spot and former fishing village that has preserved its original character. With no roads and no distractions, it offers only nature, tranquility, and a touch of history. Here, you will experience the island’s true essence far away from tourist areas.

In this special setting, you will enjoy a fresh and generous Canarian bocadillo — the perfect companion for this moment. Eat, breathe, disconnect: a pause that fully connects you with the landscape and the experience.
